Hemley Boum

Hemley Boum

A novelist, poet, and essayist, Hemley was born in Cameroon where she studied anthropology before taking up the study of international trade in Lille. She went on to live in several African countries before settling in Paris and finding the form of writing that suited her. In her novels, Hemley Boum crystalizes urbanity, tradition and history, captured in the daily life of close relationships that gives a thought-provoking insider’s view of an Africa far from clichés.
