Multifaceted New Zealand talent Noah Slee is widely regarded as a community leader. The storyteller identifies as a musician, songwriter, producer, artist, and director. Combining traditional soul influences with electronic production, Slee’s music defies genre boundaries and explores various aspects of contemporary soul, incorporating sounds ranging from future beats to progressive RnB. Since moving to Berlin in 2017, he has collaborated with artists like Jordan Rakei and Shiloh Dynasty. His work has been featured on platforms such as the Colors Show, Rhythm Section, and most recently, on the album Transmissions From Total Refreshment Centre released by Blue Note Records. Poetic songwriting and soulful executions serve as his canvas, allowing him to express himself vulnerably while empowering the community and culture. Community plays a pivotal role in Noah’s identity, both as an individual and as a creative. This sense of belonging emerged relatively recently as part of Berlin’s free-thinking, queer family, while he also maintains strong ties to his Pasifika roots. The undeniable sense of community he fosters is evident in his latest projects. His previous album, “It Takes a Village,” and the song “A Song For You” are true reflections of Berlin’s diverse BIPOC artists, culture, and their interconnected stories.
