Frieder Blume

Frieder Blume works as a composer, sound designer and music producer. As co-founder of the Σ Kollektiv (2012-2017), he released an album (Schleifen, 2016) and several EPs on his own label of the same name. After the dissolution of the collective, he released another EP under a new name (Struktur) on his own label and most recently an EP (Mycelium EP) on the Sonidos Del Arbol label. He worked with the artist Joana Tischkau on the productions Being Pink Ain’t Easy (2019), Colonastics (2020, 2023), Karneval (2022), Yo Bro (2022), Last Night A DJ Took My Life (2024) and Ich Nehm Dir Alles Weg – Ein Schlagerballett (2024). For Anta Helena Recke’s production of ‘1000 Serpentinen Angst’ at the Maxim Gorki Theater he worked as sound designer and composer in 2021. In 2020 he composed the music for the film ‘The Book of S of I. Chapter I for the artist and filmmaker Maren Blume. Since 2020 he is co-director and curator of the performative art project Deutsches Museum für Schwarze Unterhaltung und Black Music and since 2022 of the Österreichisches Museum für Schwarze Unterhaltung und Black Music.
