Larria (artist name NYAMIZA) is a Ugandan-Congolese artist born in Kenya. She creates poetic objects and builds melancholic bridges (texts, collages, performances, installations, thought pieces and moments) that display the inner world of some in the diaspora – a journey between Europe and Africa. With one big question driving her: how heavy is the world? She is the underground artist in its definition: chaotic Creative and cinematic and won first place in a film extravaganza in France (2015) for her first official production called ‘Present, Tense’, in collaboration with award-winning French director Fred Delsemme. For her, activism is part of her essence – there is no way without it. Being an outcast and African gal lost in Babylon all her life, she believes in being genuine and kind.
