Ayesha Harruna Attah

Ayesha Harruna Attah, born in Accra in 1983, is a Senegal-based author. Last year Attah was a jury member for the Caine Prize for African Writing 2024. Among others she studied journalism at Columbia University and creative writing at New York University. She was also a literary protégée of the Rolex Mentor & Protégé Arts Initiative in 2023-2024. Since her debut novel Harmattan Rain, published in 2008, she has published four more books. Her works have been translated into various languages, such as the novel Deep Waters Between Us (2020), which was published in German in 2021 (Divana Verlag). Her writing has also appeared in the New York Times, Newsweek and Elle Italia.
