Sophia Bogner & Paul Hertzberg

Sophia Bogner studied Literature, Economics and Politics in Paris, Shanghai as well as Cambridge. In consequence she was Head of Business Development at Burda publishing group and was responsible for international media and digital business. She wound up in journalism at the age of 27, when she entered German Journalism School and was trained as an editor. Since then she has reported from abroad for outlets such as Spiegel, FAZ and Zeit. Alongside Paul Hertzberg, she has been a foreign correspondent, mostly in Africa for Spiegel Zeit, FAZ, NZZ, brand eins and Deutschlandfunk. Paul Hertzberg travelled the world for two years after graduating from high school. He worked on the docks as well as a bartender. He started his career in journalism as a local reporter for Berliner Morgenpost. He moved to Munich in 2016 to attend journalism school where he received a scholarship of the Bavarian Journalism Association. Together Paul and Sophia have been awarded the German Journalists Prize and the Ludwig Erhard Prize.
